Recent BC members, HS drumline grads, or anyone else that may be interested: The BC "Renegade Line" season kicks off next week, so get enrolled and register for MUSC B18A to be a part of it. The time commitment is reasonable, it's a great way to prepare for the BC "Indoor Line" (or Golden Empire), and as usual there is no cost other than registering for the class. Get registered today and plan to be at the pre-season practice at BC from 12-3pm on 8/24.
After a day full of planes, trams, and automobiles, the BC Drumline is in Ohio! Everything went smoothly, and tonight the members are settling down in the hotel resting up for a long day of rehearsal tomorrow. We're happy to be back at the same place in Troy, OH...our home away from home...and tomorrow we'll meet up with our friends from Edison College up the road in Piqua. A full day ahead of us...time to get some sleep!
The road to Dayton is not a smooth one...literally. Only a few hours into the first drive and the equipment trailer had a tire issue. Our crew barely skipped a beat, and in no time they had the trailer back on the road. It's gonna take more than a rough road to stop Buddy and Ken.
Last fall the Bakersfield College Renegade Line was invited to appear in a music video featuring the new alt-pop group, THE GRTNS. The members traveled to LA for the shoot, shared the sound stage with several talented performers, and had a great time doing what they do best.
We're excited to announce that the video was just released on MTV and Vevo! The song expresses the belief that there is "Greatness" inside all of us, and that it can reveal itself in infinite shapes and forms. You can check out the video and support THE GRTNS and the BCDL by voting here:
A special forces unit from the BC Renegade Line was deployed early this morning to drum up support for Operation 14-15! Some people know the BCDL from football games, others from PPAACC and WGI shows. But not everyone knows that the line is out there drumming it up on campus, in the community, and all over town representing Bakersfield College. The crew on campus this morning was happy to help spread the word about Financial Aid Awareness Week at BC. If you want to learn more visit http://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/finaid/
